I just finished reading this book, and found it to be very helpful, from how to purchase snorkeling gear, to how to snorkel. It also teaches you how to take care of the gear you buy. I would recommend this book to anyone who is new to snorkeling.

Summary
This guide, the newest and most complete to the British Virgin Islands, covers over 50 dive sites in detail. All the major islands are represented--Virgin Gorda, Tortola, Anegada, Salt, Cooper, etc. Included are special sections on beach diving, shipwrecks (such as the famous Rhone), remote dive sites for those who charter their own boats, topside attractions, as well as maps of individual dive sites locating major points of interest. This is a great book for snorkelers and beginning divers! The color photographs are beautiful and make identification easy. Although this small book is nowhere near as comprehensive as Humann's complete reef identification set, it's a great bargain for those wanting to know the names of most of the common things they see when snorkeling in the Caribbean. The book also contains some valuable pointers about which plants and animals should be approached with caution, how to treat stings, and other interesting facts...
