MAGNA CARTA
WEST END THEATRE CRUISE
The West End Theatre cruise will be tailored
to suit your charter group’s individual theatre preferences and
requirements. Whilst being pampered on board London’s most deluxe
floating hotel and enjoying daily cruising on the river Thames, your
group will be escorted to a variety of top West End shows, theatre
tours and exhibitions.
Your guides for the week will be experienced professional artistes from
the world of the West End Theatre and your cruising week will include:
- Top price seats to 4 productions in the
West End; 3 evening performances and one matinee: Musicals, Opera and /
or Straight Plays.
You will have a wide choice of West End
theatres and shows; all tickets will be pre-purchased on your behalf
and included in the cost of your week aboard, along with transfers to
and from the Magna Carta. Other visits may include:
- The Royal Opera House, The English
National Opera, The Albert Hall, & The Royal National Theatre,
and Festival Hall on London’s southbank.
- Afternoon visits to the legendary
Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre to see the matinee performance and enjoy
the Globe’s Theatre tour.
- Following your champagne, smoked salmon
and strawberry picnic in the grounds, a visit to the picturesque
Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, for either the afternoon matinee or
evening performances.
- A visit to Holland Park’s celebrated
Opera Season.
- The Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, back-stage
theatre tour, conducted by your resident tour guide.
- A visit to Covent Garden’s Theatre
Museum.
- An exciting musical soiree performance,
following your spectacular 4 course “Captain’s Dinner” aboard the Magna
Carta on the Friday evening, to be performed on board by leading
musical theatre artistes from the World of Opera and Musical Theatre.
- Surprise visits to The Magna Carta by
leading artistes, well known in the West End and the UK’s entertainment
industry for a cocktail party on board.
- A visit to the historic Richmond Theatre
or The Theatre Royal in Windsor, two outer London Theatres situated
within walking distance from The Magna Carta’s moorings. AND…
- Other excursions to see the classic
sights of The City of London.

Itinerary
(Itineraries will be tailor-made for each Charter Group)
Day 1, Sunday
Afternoon High Tea at London’s beautiful Stafford Hotel. At 16.00 hrs
you will be transported to The Magna Carta, moored at St. Katharine’s
Dock and invited to our Champagne Reception. You will be welcomed by
the Crew and your West End Theatre Host will be on board to explain the
week’s plans and Theatre Itinerary. Dinner is aboard.
Day 2, Monday
Today we take a round-trip cruise to the Thames Barrier, seeing some of
London’s most historic sights; The Tower of London, Greenwich and the
famous tea clipper Cutty Sark, the Royal Naval College and the
Millennium Dome. Return to St Katherine’s Dock, renovated in the 1970’s
with its swing bridge, boutique shops and Yacht haven. Lunch is on
board. We may take the celebrated “Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, Backstage
Tour” in the afternoon, followed by a pre-theatre dinner in the West
End. 19.30 hrs. curtain up on your first West End Theatre Performance,
following which you will be chauffeured back to the Magna Carta for
canapés and drinks.
Day 3, Tuesday
We cruise from St Katherine’s Dock to Chiswick. Lunch is on board. We
may visit Covent Garden Market and the Theatre Museum. There may also
be time for shopping and other London sights, depending on the River
Thames’ tides. A light dinner on The Magna Carta is at 17.00. Then
transfers into The West End for your second Theatre Performance. Return
to The Magna Carta for canapés and drinks.
Day 4,
Wednesday
Today you cruise from Chiswick Pier to Richmond. In the morning,
conducted by your Theatre Host, you may take “Shakespeare’s Globe”
tour, followed by a smoked salmon and champagne picnic lunch, specially
prepared by the chef of the Magna Carta. 14.00 hrs. enjoy the matinee
performance in the Globe Theatre’s top price seats – your third Theatre
visit. Transfers back to The Magna Carta, for your special mid-cruise
cocktails and dinner on board. This evening also sees a surprise visit
to the Magna Carta by one of the top Theatre or Variety artistes. Your
after-dinner entertainment will round off the perfect West-end Theatre
cruise Day and will be a hilarious evening you are unlikely to forget.
Day 5,
Thursday
In the morning, we cruise from Richmond, past the Royal Botanic Gardens
of Kew, to Hampton Court, the former Tudor Palace of Henry VIII. Lunch
is on board. In the afternoon, there will be a guided tour of Hampton
Court and you may wander through the beautiful Royal Gardens and get
lost in the late seventeenth century maze. An early light dinner on
board will be served before your chauffeur transfers you to your
theatre for your fourth and final evening performance. As before, your
host will be there to greet you at the theatre and delicious
late-evening snacks and drinks will be served on board following your
return to The Magna Carta.
Day 6, Friday
The final cruise of the week is from Hampton Court to Runnymede and
then onto Windsor in the afternoon. Upon arrival at Runnymede, we moor
at Bell Weir Lock adjacent to a luxury spa hotel. You have the
opportunity to visit the spa before cruising through Runnymede itself,
where King John faced the powerful barons and signed the “Magna Carta”
in 1215. Lunch is served on board. Arriving at Windsor in the
afternoon, we visit Windsor Castle, built by William the Conqueror and
inhabited for over 900 years by The Royal Family. You are then invited
to the ‘Captain’s Dinner’, which will be followed by a wonderful
“Farewell Musical Soiree”, performed on board by West End Artistes
Day 7,
Saturday
Following breakfast disembark and you are transferred back to London.
