French barge cruises in Southern Burgundy, France
Dijon area
Specially designed to accommodate passengers
with physical challenges, La Reine Pedauque is fitted with a lift for
wheelchairs and a stair lift for access between decks, with doors wide
enough for wheelchair access on all decks.
The luxury barge La Reine Pedauque offers an
exceptional cruise along the Burgundy canal and can accommodate up to
eight guests in four large suites. The elegant staterooms have double
or twin beds, private bathrooms, wardrobe space, desk and chair and
opening portholes.
La Reine Pedauque cruises for 6 nights from
Friday to Thursday between April and October. Every 6-night cruise
includes all meals, open bar, regional wines, daily escorted excursions
to nearby historical monuments and other local attractions, local
return transfer between the vessel and Chateau la Chassagne Hotel near
Dijon. Inquire about 3-night cruises (Friday-Monday or Monday-Thursday).

La Reine Pedauque navigates on the 300 year
old Canal de Bourgogne, gracefully making her way through locks and the
valleys of the "Gold Coast" in Burgundy
The barge always cruises at a good walking
pace and it is possible to get on and off the boat at every lock, to go
cycling or walking. The tow-path alongside the canal is closed to all
forms of motorized transport so it is very safe and great fun to follow
the barge along the path.

There is also plenty of time to cycle off to
other villages and places to visit, ask the cook for a picnic basket if
you wish.
The name La Reine Pedauque comes from a very
old French legend, when translated into English it means "The goose
footed queen". The story says that the Queen had webbed feet, she would
keep a goose beside her, and so the loyal subjects would mistake her
feet for those of the goose.
