ITINERARY: PALAVAS TO BEZIERS

SATURDAY - DAY 1
5:00 p.m: After we pick you up at around 5pm we will take you to where Emma is moored at Palavas, on the Mediterranean coast. Once safely aboard and shown to your cabin we will cruise off through the “Petit Camargue” to Villeneuve les Magelone. with its salt water étangs where the flamingos love to feed. Nicely chilled champagne will be served before the first of your gastronomic dinners. After which you will have time to explore.

SUNDAY - DAY 2
Morning: This morning after breakfast your guide will take you off in the mini bus to Aigues Mortes, the medieval walled city where the Knights left for the Crusades in the Holy Land. You are at the door of Provence with little shops abounding with pottery, fabrics perfumes and all sorts of local delicacies. A typical French Sunday morning.
Afternoon: Back to the boat for a lovely lunch accompanied by the fine wines of the region and then we cruise off through Frontignan, home of the sweet Muscat wine to Sète. For those who want a swim the beach is right beside us.

MONDAY - DAY 3
Morning: Sète, the birthplace of your captain René, is a lively bustling fishing port. This is one of our favourite visits as there is so much to see. It is like a little island hung between the sea and the étang.We must  taste the Muscat before heading back to Emma
Afternoon: After lunch we cruise across the étang de Thau, the large inland salt water lake  22kms long. with its mussel and oyster beds We are heading for Marseillan a beautiful little port with its famous distillery of NoillyPrat vermouth. Wonderful for the sunsets..

TUESDAY - DAY 4
Morning:  The visit this morning could either be a jaunt in a pony and trap through the vineyards with a wine tasting of the white wine Picpoul de Pinet (traditionally served with the oysters). or we can head off to Pézenas.A town renowned for its culture, architecture and antiques its cobbled streets are filled with lots of arty boutiques, a shoppers delight.
Afternoon: Lunch will be awaiting you on your return and after that we will start on to the first part of the Canal du Midi and our first lock. You will see a big change in the scenery as we start to leave the sea behind us and head into the vineyards of the Languedoc Roussillon. We have time for a cruise up the river Herault where we can cool off with a nice swim in fresh water off the side of the boat. Agde is our mooring tonight.

WEDNESDAY - DAY 5
Morning: After breakfast we will go and explore the town of Agde, built from volcanic stone and discovered by the Greeks.
Afternoon: Cruising this afternoon is along a very beautiful stretch of canal with little bridges, great views. and 4 locks bringing us into Bèziers

THURSDAY - DAY 6
Morning: This morning we can go off to the beach for a swim, or visit the Oppidum d’Enserune, the site of a hilltop settlement dating from pre Christian times
Afternoon: After lunch we will be going up the biggest lock on the canal, then across the beautiful canal bridge of the river Orb and then up the spectacular flight of 7 locks of Fonserrannes. Tonight is your gala dinner when all the stops are pulled out to give you wonderful memories to take home with you

FRIDAY - DAY 7
Morning: Sadly this is the last morning and after breakfast we will say our good byes and you will be taken off around 10am  and left to the departure point to continue your onward journey.
